Economic Compulsions
The jingle of dollar and cents
Gets me out of a warm bed
To drink a hot cuppa
To clear the fog in my head
To rush to get ready
To board the train to work
In a frenzy of hustle and bustle
A tight knot forms in my belly
Born out of stress
To get to work
To punch on time
To beat the monster
Who waits with a stopwatch
To pull up the strings
The jingle of dollar and cents
Makes me tolerate the
Mundane and the extraordinary
The daily ignominies and the indignities
Handed down by an implacable chain of command
I’ve become a master at this game and play it well
To the tune of the jingle of dollar and cents
And thus life passes me by
Gone are the days when I enjoyed innocent pleasures
Felt a quiet happiness at the sight of a beautiful rose
Enjoyed a good book n relaxed in an armchair feet extended
Without a care in the world!!!!
Leisure may be defined as free activity, labour as compulsory activity. Leisure does what it likes,
labour does what it must, the compulsion being that of Nature, which in these latitudes
leaves men no choice between labour and starvation.

Is it compulsion
or self-delusion?
the jingle of money
the feeling of being on a merry(?) go round
like a "kolhu-ka-bail"
phir man mein jamtaa jaata hai mail (dirt)
chhoti chhoti baatein yaad aati hain
sataati hain
ghar aur desh wapas bulati hain
lekin yahan se khali haath kya lautoon?
wahan kaun hai tera -musafir- tu lautegaa kahan...
